Growing up in Scarborough, when other kids said they wanted to be doctors or astronauts or baseball players, I told them I wanted to be “the owner.” I never knew what that meant, mind you, but that’s what I told everyone. My father, Wayne Sr., probably had something to do with it. He was a developer in Toronto and Port Carling, so our family was always involved in the real estate industry.
